I have just returned from a fabulous week in Crete with Epicureans Co. and can't say enough about how wonderful this experience was. Our hosts kindly and skillfully transformed us from a group of 16 strangers into a family. The activities were delightful and educational and the food was incredible. Thank you so much, Val and Anthony, for planning and overseeing this glorious trip.
Just spent a week in France with 18 friends - along with Val, Anthony and Erin. Chateau Pitray was a magical place in the French countryside, excursions were well planned and the food was fantastic . 9 couples - all from the East Coast of Canada thoroughly enjoyed our time.
the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. the food was, as expected, "epic", both at the villa and in the many other venues we experienced. the local guides were fun and fluent and helped us experience many things we would have missed on our own. and the camaraderie that developed in our group was very much a positive, joyful, and somewhat unexpected and delightful part of our experience. i talk too much. my travel mates will concur. so let me be succinct: if you have the time and the funds, just go. stop thinking about it and just go. i like your odds of having a great time and coming back with many stories to tell, and some new friends as well. who can say enough about that?
Don't do a trip with Epicureans Co. unless you love fantastic food, amazing wine, staying in an incredible location, getting to know a great group of people, sitting back and letting someone else do all of the planning (and doing it so well) and most importantly, having a lot of fun! We did the Bordeaux trip in September 2025 and can't say enough good things about it. Chateau Pitray is a beautiful, well maintained and renovated castle on a working vineyard with lots of great spaces for group dinners and wine tastings. Val, Anthony and Erin do an exceptional job of taking you through the entire wine making process from picking the grapes to barrel making to blending the wine. They provide lots of great information about the Bordeaux area, the wine, the coast and the history. The food is great, both onsite at the chateau and while out exploring and is cooked by a few different chefs so there is always a different twist. There is more than enough wine to drink with every meal and at tastings. Guest appearances by Anthony's charming family add to the overall experience. We highly recommend this trip and suspect that any of the Epicurean offerings would be just as good!
The Epicureans Bordeaux tour was an amazing week. The deep dive into wine, staying at an historic Chateaux, the Count Pitray taking time out of his day to spend time with us discussing his wine, and the amazing dinners. The food throughout the tour was delicious. Anthony, Val and Erin were thoughtful, organized, knowledgeable and so helpful. They have developed a vacation tour that is definitely one of a kind and has many magical moments.
