A trip to France with Anthony & Val

 

An adventure curated around good times, good food and good wines.

We feel fortunate to be anchored in two different cultures. It is a unique authentic experience to visit  family in France.  Through this Culinary Adventure, we want you to experience France how we have the chance to experience it; like a local. Together, we will discover Gironde (Bordeaux area) through its exquisite gourmet flavours.

The Experience

​

Our offering includes assistance with pre and/or post trip organization (want to stay in Paris for a few days? We can help you plan an unforgettable and seamless experience.)

Our group will comprise of a maximum of 20 guests.

Val & Anthony will host your entire stay. We expect visit from Anthony’s Family to join us on certain days/activities.

We will have the exclusive use of the Chateau de Pitray, when not experiencing a variety of food establishments, we will enjoy local specialties cooked especially for us by Anthony, his family and/or a local private Chef. 

We will have our own private transport in coach with a private driver to take us comfortably from site to site.

We are curating, for you, a unique itinerary based around the pleasures of the table.

Our home for the week is Chateau de Pitray located 10 mins away from St-Emilion. It is a historical chateau with an operating vineyard. It comprise of 13 bedrooms, a kitchen, a formal dinning room, gardens, a pool, a reception room, two living rooms, tons of history and a unique character!

You will be assigned a bedroom and will share a bathroom with one other room.

As a Gourmet Expedition hosted by Epicureans Co, Fine Food and Beverages will take the central stage.

Breakfast will be enjoyed at the Chateaux and will consist of a typical French breakfast with an assortment of freshly baked pastries and breads from a local artisan bakery. It will be complemented by small farm jams, yogurts, fruits, juices, coffee and teas. You will be free to eat breakfast to your convenience in the kitchen, dinning room, your room, on the patio or by the pool.

For lunches, we will experience a variety of local eateries: creperies, bistros, relais du routard, pick-nick in the vineyard, fine vineyard restaurants, truffle farm restaurant, oyster shack; just to name a few.

Apero, French tradition: all good meals start by an Apero! We will sample a variety of specialties from Bordeaux areas to open our appetite: Pate, Saucissons, Rillettes, Foie Gras, Cheeses & Charcuteries from local markets… with a little local beverage;)

Dinners: Most Dinners will be enjoyed in the comfort of Chateau de Pitray. Anthony will feature some of his favorite meals, a few things he misses from back home. If you have sampled Anthony’s cuisine at the Bistro, you know what to expect: simple, flavorful heartwarming meals. Patisseries from a local artisans will conclude our meals everyday. We have many unique experiences for you! We are looking forward to immersing you in French culture and to showcase wineries in an interactive way.

Here is a sample of the fun activities from our 2022 Culinary Adventure. We intend to have a very similar program, keeping the door open to new discoveries.

  • Guided Visit of Bordeaux.

  • Sightseeing Cruise on La Garonne

  • Bordeaux Wine Assemblage Workshop (Yes, you will be making your own Bordeaux Blend!)

  • Local Markets visit

  • Visit of Archachon Bay and oyster hatchery

  • Oyster sampling (feast) at a fisherman shack in Archachon

  • Visit of a Truffle Farm 

  • Visit of St-Emilion old town and undergrounds 

  • E-bike Tour through wineries

  • Long table harvest lunch in the vineyard

  • Bread making workshop at an old mill

  • Vineyard Harvest & Grape triage

  • Touristic train of St-Emilion

  • 1er Grand Cru St-Emilion Winery visit

Your gourmet adventure includes:

  • Your accommodation at Chateau de Pitray for 7 nights

  • Daily apero and 3 meals a day in local restaurants or at Chateau Pitray cooked by Anthony and/or our very own private Chef (1 or 2 lunches will be left to your discretions to allow for some private time) 

  • Local transport in private coach with chauffeur

  • All visits, gourmet activities and tastings

  • Services from your personal hosts (Val & Anthony)
