The Art of Living in Provence

Overview
Provence is a place that awakens the senses. Golden light washes over vineyards and olive groves. Hilltop villages rise above the countryside, and village markets overflow with sun-ripened vegetables, fragrant herbs, cheeses, olives, and warm bread from the boulangerie.
Life here follows the rhythm of the seasons and the table. Food is beautifully simple — tomatoes at their peak, vegetables from the garden, fish grilled over open flame, all finished with generous olive oil and herbs. Meals stretch long beneath the shade of plane trees, accompanied by chilled rosé and easy conversation.
Our home in Provence places us perfectly between two remarkable wine worlds — the powerful reds of the Rhône Valley, including the legendary Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and the sun-kissed vineyards that produce the elegant rosés of Provence. This is the Provence we love to share — slowly, generously, and always around the table.

Adventure Details

Highlights
- The L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue brocante, the largest antique market in France
- A visit to a lavender distillery with a live distillation demonstration
- A gourmet picnic by the river at our Provençal Mas
Accommodations

Our home for the week is a beautifully restored Provençal mas, once an ancient mill where the original wheel still remains — a quiet reminder of the region’s rural heritage.
Stone walls, wooden beams, and terracotta floors reflect the rustic elegance of Provence, while antique furnishings from local markets create a warm and timeless atmosphere.
Surrounded by gardens and mature trees, the property opens onto a small river and offers terraces, a pool, and shaded spaces to relax after exploring nearby villages and markets.
Evenings gather around the table for generous Provençal dishes — olive tapenade, fougasse, bouillabaisse, and local wines — as the mas slowly begins to feel like a home in Provence.

- Finds joy wandering through village markets, antique shops, and sun-drenched stone streets without a fixed agenda
- Appreciates a more refined, understated form of luxury — thoughtful spaces, beautiful homes, and a sense of ease rather than excess
- Loves Provençal cuisine rooted in seasonality — olive oil, fresh herbs, garden vegetables, and simple dishes done exceptionally well
- Enjoys long, lingering meals under the shade of plane trees, where conversation flows as easily as the rosé- Is curious about local wines, from elegant rosés to expressive Rhône varietals, and the stories behind them
- Values meeting passionate producers — winemakers, artisans, and market vendors — and understanding the traditions they carry forward- Feels inspired by landscapes of lavender fields, vineyards, and hilltop villages bathed in golden light
- Is an Epicurean at heart — someone who believes the most meaningful moments of travel are shared slowly, around the table
Morning begins gently at the mas as sunlight filters through the trees and lavender scents the garden. Breakfast is served on the terrace with fresh pastries, seasonal fruit, yogurt, honey, and coffee.
Late morning we explore Provence — wandering village markets, visiting small wineries producing Provençal rosé, or meeting local artisans who preserve regional traditions.
Lunch may be enjoyed at a countryside bistro or at a vineyard where simple dishes highlight fresh Provençal ingredients.
Afternoons bring new discoveries such as lavender distilleries, vineyard e-biking, or relaxing back at the mas with a game of pétanque or time by the pool.
As evening falls, we gather for dinner where Mediterranean dishes, local wines, and long conversations stretch into the warm Provençal night.
