Tuscan Sunsets & Village Tables

patio section of tuscan restaurant

Overview

Tuscany is a place where life still follows traditions shaped over centuries. Vineyards stretch across sunlit hills, olive groves line quiet roads, and every village carries recipes passed down through generations.

Our Tuscan Culinary Adventure invites guests to experience the region slowly, always centered around the table. For the week, we stay in a beautiful Tuscan villa surrounded by olive groves and gardens. Evenings gather around generous meals — perhaps a classic bistecca alla Fiorentina grilled over olive wood and shared at a long table overlooking the hills.

Throughout the journey we explore Tuscany through its food and wine, from handmade pasta and fresh olive oil to Chianti Classico tastings with local producers. More than a tour, it is a celebration of the Italian dolce vita — where food, landscape, and community come together.

Highlights

  • The incredible sunsets viewed from our dining table as the light fades behind the cypress trees, rolling vineyards stretching toward the distant towers of San Gimignano.
  • An olive oil pairing lunch on our friend Giovanni’s terrace, overlooking the marvelous Tuscan countryside. One of our most memorable meals, lovingly prepared by his mother as we are welcomed into their family home.
  • A hands-on fresh pasta cooking class with our private chef Mirco, held in the beautiful country kitchen of our villa.

Accommodations

Late afternoon in Tuscany. The sun dips behind the cypress trees as glasses of Chianti are poured and the scent of rosemary drifts from the kitchen.

Our home for the week is a Tuscan villa set among vineyards and rolling countryside. Stone walls, terracotta floors, and arched ceilings reflect the rustic elegance of the region.

Surrounded by gardens and terraces overlooking the hills, the villa offers space for quiet moments and shared gatherings.

As evening settles and the table fills with food and wine, Tuscany begins to feel less like a destination — and more like home.

A Day In Tuscany

Morning begins slowly at the villa as sunlight spills across the Tuscan hills. Espresso and warm cornetti are served while some guests stroll through nearby vineyards and others linger over cappuccino.

Late morning often leads into the countryside — perhaps the medieval streets of San Gimignano or a family-run Chianti winery where we meet the winemaker and taste regional wines.

Lunch may be at a countryside trattoria, a vineyard overlooking the hills, or during a relaxed farm visit featuring local cheeses, cured meats, and olive oil.

Afternoons bring new discoveries, from village walks and olive oil mills to a hands-on pasta class with our local chef.By late afternoon we return to the villa for aperitivo, poolside relaxation, or a friendly game of bocce.

Dinner is served family-style on the terrace as the sky turns gold over vineyards and cypress trees — Tuscany at its most generous and timeless.

Client Reviews

the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. the food was, as expected, "epic", both at the villa and in the many other venues we experienced. the local guides were fun and fluent and helped us experience many things we would have missed on our own. and the camaraderie that developed in our group was very much a positive, joyful, and somewhat unexpected and delightful part of our experience. i talk too much. my travel mates will concur. so let me be succinct: if you have the time and the funds, just go. stop thinking about it and just go. i like your odds of having a great time and coming back with many stories to tell, and some new friends as well. who can say enough about that?

The Bordeaux/ St. Emillion tour my husband and I took in May 2025 was brilliantly coordinated by our hosts Val and Anthony. They enriched our experience with “castle” accommodations and carefully curated activities involving French food and all things wine. We met great friends for life and experienced Bordeaux in a very special way. If you like exceptional food and French wine, this is the trip for you. It is worry free and seamless. Val, Anthony and Erin ensure you have a very memorable experience. Bravo!

Client Reviews

Just what I needed!! Val, Anthony and Erin were great hosts! I hadnt travelled to Europe in 30 years and was a bit aprehensive going alone but I felt welcomed and given the group was small, the experience was more intimate and I feel I made some good friends. The schedule was flexible and you could be as busy as you wanted, with the group or on your own. The meals were amazing...from breakfast straight through to dinner. I can't believe that the stay at the castle, the extensive, knowledge filled tours, meals, and wine, cooking class, as well as a personal touch from Anthony's family, came included at such a reasonable price. Epicureans went beyond what was expected and I would definitely go again and reccomend others do the same.

Client Reviews

The excursions are outstanding and so much variety it gives you a taste of all parts of the country and culture!! The food at the Villa was way above expectations. Breakfast had so much variety and local touches- fresh fruits, homemade baking, omelettes and more. Rooms and amenities in the villa over the top….meals out were wonderful and dinners at the Villa a culinary treat. As a culinary tour the wine variety was delicious and learned a lot…as well as many additional options for non wine drinkers. Val and Anthony are always there to help with any questions and go out of their way to make sure every need is taken care of!! We will be joining again for another adventure in the future and we would highly recommend to friends and family!!!

Epicureans Co. is unique in the world in the types of culinary adventures they offer. Crete 2024 was exceptional with a gorgeous villa right on the ocean, transportation on a comfortable Mercedes van to and from various outings, dinner with private chefs and local, authentic restaurants and fantastic day trips that I'll remember forever. My favourite was the cooking class with a local couple, right in their outdoor kitchen in the most exquisite food garden I've ever seen. It was so beautiful and educational and authentic. I've never tasted better food. As always Anthony and Val take 5-star care of their guests and really went above and beyond for me when I ran into some medical issues during the tour. I was in such good hands. This was my second adventure with Epicureans having done the Tuscany one last year...also, very highly recommended.
